Benjamin Rose is the singer of the band BenJRose from Cologne.

With his joie de vivre and his sensitive voice, he is attending the blacksheep festival for the first time. He opens the festival Friday, 23th June, at 6.30 pm on the Granary Stage.

The musician has Puerto Rican-Indian roots and grew up in Niedersachsen, where he started singing  as a child with a microphone in his hands. He knew his path early and signed his first record deal with BMG at the age of twelve.

He moved to Cologne, where he now writes his songs in his studio. Among others, he worked with the keyboardist and producer of the Foo Fighters, Rami Jaffee, and was invited by them with his band to the South by Southwest Festival in Austin/Texas. BenjRose is playing at national and international festivals – it is absolutely natural, that we would like to present him. Benjamin comes to us for the first time.

When Benjamin Rose is on stage with BenjRose, as a member of a formation like Fresh Music Live or as a solo act, he exudes a positive energy that electrifies the audience and either transforms them into a dancing and happy crowd or with his acoustic guitar and calmer ones sounds under its spell and takes you on a journey.

In every setting, Benjamin radiates an unmistakable joie de vivre on stage. It is unparalleled in the music business.

Benjamin Rose appreciates the benefits of his work. He doesn’t see any negative sides, even though he knows that he always has to give 100 percent on stage at the push of a button: “Of course everyone gets up on the wrong foot sometimes, but as a singer you have to keep the audience entertained even on a bad day. If you’re not willing to do that, you won’t get very far.”
