Julian Pfoertner

Germany

Julian Pfoertner and blacksheep is a relationship that startet i 2018 at the blacksheep band contest about the FÖRCH newcomer award. At that time, the singer/songwriter still operated under the name Shorty. In 2017 he won the “Heilbronn sucht das Supertalent” contest. In 2018 he played at our festival as a contest runner-up with an ad hoc band alongside artists he admired like Passenger and Mighty Oaks.

“I was 18 at the time and I was really fed up,” he admits openly. But the audience didn’t notice anything. On the contrary: Julian Pfoertner was so well received that we booked him again and again. Most recently during the pandemic for a live stream from our partner, the Kreissparkasse Heilbronn. In the summer of 2022, Julian Pfoertner finished second in Peter Maffay’s team at The Voice of Germany. It was a great experience for him, for us he has always been a talented artist who lives around the corner from us and with whom we have a warm, personal relationship.

“Hey, I’m Julian, actually a normal guy, except that I make music almost everywhere and anytime. Music has been with me for as long as I can remember – so for twenty-one years now.” – Julian Pfoertner

It’s the perfect opener for the 8th blacksheep festival – live in the Bonfeld Castle Park. Julian will play in front of Steiner & Madlaina and Bosse on Thursday, June 22 at 6:30 p.m. The evening will be young – and we look forward to it.

In the year of his appearance at the blacksheep festival, Julian Pfoertner released his first single “All the little lights”, which has received over 200,000 streams on Spotify to date. The song ran on SWR1 and became Newcomer of the Week on BigFm. “Cool, isn’t it?” Writes Julian. Cool. I agree.

But then came The Voice of Germany – and with the highly acclaimed talent show the breakthrough of the singer/songwriter. Already in the Blind Editions he received four buzzers. The likeable singer and guitarist from Bad Wimpfen chose Peter Maffay’s team – and quickly won the hearts of viewers from all over Germany.

It is typical of him that he still does not take off. “I can’t tell you myself how things will continue,” he writes on his website. “But I’ll just keep going – that’s for sure.” He would be really happy “if you follow me on my journey”.
